We create motion - drive systems from FAULHABER are masterpieces of precision engineering and electromechanics, at the limits of what is technically feasible. FAULHABER is an independent, family-run group of companies headquartered in Schönaich, Germany. At FAULHABER, we realize pioneering solutions for almost all markets and industries in which precision and reliability in the smallest of spaces are crucial, such as in aerospace, industry, robotics and medicine. The success of our products is based on the commitment of our employees - because behind every FAULHABER drive is the drive of our employees. Take us further with your drive and become part of our team.
This position is in-office (not remote)
Permanent U.S. Work Authorization is required. Sponsorship is not available.
Faulhaber is seeking a Production / Industrial Engineer to take ownership of how our manufacturing systems perform, scale, and evolve.
This is not a traditional engineering role focused only on analysis or design. This position sits at the center of execution—bridging engineering, production, and operations to ensure that complex, high-mix products are built efficiently, consistently, and at the highest level of quality.
You will be responsible for translating engineering intent into real-world production success—developing workflows, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement across the shop floor. From custom Engineer-to-Order builds to ongoing production support, you will define how work moves, how problems are solved, and how performance improves over time.
We are looking for someone who has earned credibility in a manufacturing environment—someone who understands that systems only work when they function under real conditions, with real people, in real time.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role with direct impact on operational performance, scalability, and long-term growth.
What You Will Do:
- Own and optimize production workflows from engineering release through assembly and test
- Translate custom designs into structured, executable manufacturing processes
- Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement across a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Lead process development for new products and support ongoing production execution
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, variability, and inefficiencies in real time
- Specify and implement tooling, equipment, and automation solutions
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Bring structure, discipline, and accountability to production systems
What We Are Looking For:
- A hands-on engineer who understands both systems and execution
- Proven experience in manufacturing, preferably in ETO or high-mix environments
- Strong process engineering and industrial engineering capability
- Ability to lead through influence and build trust on the production floor
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
As our operation grows in complexity and scale, this role becomes increasingly critical. You will directly shape how we build, how we improve, and how we compete—establishing the foundation for a more predictive, efficient, and scalable manufacturing system.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Production / Industrial Engineer is responsible for architecting, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing systems that enable efficient, scalable, and high-quality production across a dynamic, high-mix environment. This role serves as the critical bridge between engineering design and production floor execution, ensuring that custom and standard products are translated into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
Operating across process engineering, industrial engineering, and production support functions, the position drives workflow design, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting new product introduction, capital investment decisions, and enterprise-level operational transformation. The engineer provides technical leadership in process standardization, manufacturability, and system capability, while maintaining close engagement with production teams to ensure practical, real-world execution.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
While this job description outlines the ideal candidate, we recognize that experience levels and skill sets vary. We are open to considering candidates with different levels of expertise and will invest in developing the right individual who demonstrates strong potential, a willingness to learn, and a passion for engineering and motion control solutions.
