MISSION
As an R&D Engineer in the Product Application team, develops and provides technical support on product modifications according to customers’ requests
TASKS
- Product development tasks:
- Autonomously manages the product modification requests assigned to her/him in the framework of the IVA (Internal Value Added) process
- Evaluates the feasibility and implementation of technical modification requests according to customers’ requests
- Looks for and creates design proposals based on best performance-to-cost ratio and discusses about them with the relevant departments (Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Sales)
- Performs technical calculations (tolerance stack up, bearing lifetime, …) to guarantee compliance with technical requirements
- Collaborates with other R&D teams to guarantee the compliance of the devised technical solution with the customers’ request and to the Faulhaber quality standards
- Creates parts and assembly drawings (both 3D and 2D)
- Creates the associated documentation (BOM, IVA sheets, …)
- Project management tasks:
o Manages 2-phase projects assigned to her/him, in accordance with the Faulhaber project management standards foreseen for them, taking responsibility for project execution
- Supports the Application Engineering department and Sales by providing feedback to technical inquiries and attending customer meetings
- Attends PSS (Production-Stop Shopfloor) meetings to support in solving production issues related to modified products
PROFILE
The minimum requirements for the ideal candidate are:
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Solid background in mechanical drawing, tolerancing and design is a must
- Very good knowledge of CAD software (independent use), preferably of Siemens NX
- Previous experience in product development is a plus (specifically, direct experience in development of electromechanical or micro-mechanical devices is considered an advantage)
- Proficiency in Italian is a must. Minimum professional knowledge of English is required (B1 level). Higher English level or knowledge of French and/or German are considered a plus
- Strong team spirit, openness and collaborative attitude are a must
- Curious and interested in product modifications and market applications using Faulhaber products
- Strong proactivity and willingness to contribute to the success of the team
